Lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is located in the Andean Plateau, in the Central Andes at an average altitude of 3812 m, in an area shared by Peru and Bolivia. It is distinguished by its large dimensions: an approximate area of 8,490 km2 and a depth of 280 meters. Since time immemorial, this huge portion of water has had a mystical impact on Pune society, as Lake Titicaca is the protagonist of two of the most proliferated legends in this southern Peruvian region. What is said about this lake? Well, that's where the world originated. Nothing less. And also, that emerged from the depths of Lake Titicaca the two founders of the Inca Empire. Beyond the magical stories that passed from generation to generation, Lake Titicaca is today a tourist attraction for a multitude of reasons, beyond the traditions spoken by the puneños ancestors.
